On August 15, 2026, I and Rodrigo Ghedin hosted the Site com Café (Homebrew Website Club Curitiba) #12 meeting at Go Coffee Botânica, from 10am to 12pm. I arrived a little bit earlier with Débora Venâncio and I ordered a Salted Caramel Frappe with a Cheese Croissant that were delicious!
After Rodrigo and Miriam Valentim arrived we talked about what we did in our personal sites since our last meeting, which for me was publishing two posts (one about the last Site com Café event and the other about the last WordPress Brasil Meetup Online event, and what we would like to do during this event. My list was:
- Update the How to install WordPress Studio in Ubuntu Linux post to say that now the app has native support for Ubuntu
- Update my /now page, which now is a recurrent activity that I do each event
- Install the Gutenberg and AI plugins so I can experiment with some of the new stuff being developed in WordPress
- Maybe do a plugin cleanup
For the first item I updated the English version and asked Claude Code to update the Portuguese version, which gave me some ideas for some small changes that I did manually.
For the /now page I decided to change some items, removing the “Experiments” section, updating some titles (like “Events” to “Events I’m going to”) and adding more details to some of them (like a small summary for all active projects). I realized that I wasn’t adding the Site com Café (Homebrew Website Club Curitiba) and the WordPress Brasil Meetup Online to the events links, so now they are listed there.
The installation of the plugins was quick, but I ended up not setting them up; I’ll probably do that today.
During the event I noticed that there are 10 plugins that I can remove. I also found some block plugins that maybe I don’t need anymore, but I want to first make sure that I don’t break any post content if I remove them, so I will check this first (and write a blog post about how I did this). I just deactivated the plugins and will remove them today.

- Telegram bot to post in your WordPress(dot)com blog: I mentioned this to Miriam and she tried it and already used it to write and publish a post about the event (in Portuguese), which is a log of all the things that she did during the meeting (which was a lot 🚀)!
- WordPress Browser Extension: I found out that you need to manually set up a custom “edit post” keyboard shortcut for this to work on Linux (this could be a good small post)
- Bubbles: a blog aggregator
- Blogging vs. blog setups comic about how people get lost with their blog setups and forget to use them for blogging (something that I always try to remind myself)
It was a great and productive event for everyone! We already have our next meetup scheduled for September 19, where we will celebrate one year of meetings!
