On July 25, 2026, Rodrigo Ghedin and I hosted the Homebrew Website Club Curitiba #11 meeting at Temporal Cafés Especiais, from 10am to 12pm. I arrived a little bit earlier than usual, and one of the first things that I did was to order a Bobi coffee (Latte Caramelo) and six cheese bread (pão de queijo), my favourite drink and snack from this place.
I’ve been talking with Rodrigo and Débora for a while to find an easier name in Portuguese for the event, because saying Homebrew Website Club Curitiba is already a mouthful in English; imagine how this sounds for someone who only speaks Portuguese. After exchanging a lot of ideas, we settled on Site com Café (Site with Coffee), which perfectly summarized our meetings and was friendly to non-technical people. So from now on I’ll refer to the event as “Site com Café (Homebrew Website Club Curitiba)” to keep both of them.
One of my goals for the day was to make meaningful progress on creating a site for the event. I wanted to create a single-page static HTML file hosted on GitHub and see if I could create it entirely using AI. I ended up using Claude Design, so I could easily see the final website and change the content with one click using their edit tool. I asked Claude to create a site for the event in an 8-bit cozy game style, and then added some animations to the hero background. At the end of the event, I had 80% of the site design with AI content that I still needed to edit. My goal was to finish it in the next few days. (which I did, and is now live at https://www.sitecomcafe.com.br/)
Besides that, one of my recurrent activities during the event is to update my /now page. Since I want to have a visible changelog on the page, it was not fun to update the H2 of each section to H3 so I could put them inside the changelog section to keep a valid heading structure. So I decided to remove the heading tag from each section and just use bold to highlight them, which made me a little sad because I like having a more organized structure, but this would make the copy and paste process to the changelog much easier. I could use my Claude Code setup with WordPress to do that, but I did not want to overengineer this. I almost finished doing that during the event and ended up publishing the update on August 2.

- Miriam was inspired by this and created her own /now page too, and wrote a post about her experience with the event.
