Before the event, Débora Venâncio and I made a quick stop at the Soul Bread bakery, which is in the same “open mall” as Temporal Cafés Especiais, the venue of the event, to get some really delicious bread. This is a required stop whenever we go there, and we have to order before we arrive to make sure we can get what we like, otherwise it usually sells out quickly.
This event was a special one: it marked the one year anniversary of the Site com Café (Homebrew Website Club Curitiba), held at the same coffee shop! We arrived almost together with Rodrigo Ghedin and started talking about my Omarchy installation and how it probably will soon be available for Mac and solve some of the issues that he had installing Linux on a MacBook Air with M1 chip. While we were talking, Dirceu Junior arrived. He’s a new attendee who learned about the event in the SuperInteressante magazine article about the IndieWeb and joined our WhatsApp group before the meeting.
After talking a little bit more, we started the event, where all four of us showed our websites and talked about what we did in the last month and what our plans were for today:
- Daniel: publish at least one post that I had drafted in Joplin and update my now page.
- Débora: work on a post about a WordPress plugin she recently learned about.
- Rodrigo: will focus on writing.
- Dirceu: will work on his website.
I got my usual and favorite Bobi (Latte Caramelo) and tried a new toasted bread with cheese and slices of bacon. It was delicious! And at the end of the event, we ordered a Chocolate Caramel Tartlet (with a touch of fleur de sel) and put a candle on it to celebrate our event’s one year anniversary! Since the first event, we’ve almost doubled the average attendance (from two to four people, LOL), and we expect to keep at least the same growth rate next year.

Since Rodrigo had a hard stop and we rushed to order the tartlet and take the meetup photo, we forgot to share what we were able to do during the event, but here is a summary of what I got from each one:
- Daniel: posted Best offline speech to text app and model for multiple languages on macOS, Linux, and Windows, with the Portuguese translation, and started creating a tag to organize all posts about the Site com Café (Homebrew Website Club Curitiba).
- Débora: almost finished her post with a screencast on how to use the plugin. Part of the challenge was finding an alternative to Peek, which was discontinued, to record the screencast in Ubuntu.
- Rodrigo: almost finished his post, and later the same day published it: A Year of Coffee and Websites, or Vice Versa
- Dirceu: migrated his site to Astro, exported all his posts from Medium and was migrating them to his new website setup using Google Antigravity. By the time I wrote this post everything was migrated and live, including a filter for posts in English and Portuguese! 🚀
