On August 11, 2026, the #86 meetup of the WordPress community in Curitiba took place, in an empanadas restaurant, which was a great way to restart the community events! This was the first event after I left the organization team in August 2022 (it’s already been 4 years, time flies!), and after 7 years organizing monthly events in Curitiba, I’m now helping only as a mentor, to empower a new group of people to keep the local community active and with renewed energy! The organizing group now consists of Pamela Ribeiro, Emerson Lima, Tiago Hillebrandt and Débora Venâncio, who had already joined some meetups in the past.
The food and drinks at Gracias! Empanadas Bigorrilho were delicious and well served. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of them. There were some familiar faces at the event, but also a lot of new ones, which was great. We had an open conversation about various topics: what has changed in WordPress in the latest versions, where to host a site, and how to solve some specific issues that a few people were facing. We also shared some “work horror stories” we had lived through, either because we did something wrong or had to deal with difficult people.
It was great to meet WordPress people in person again, and I’m looking forward to the next event!
