Raycast has this cool extension to control Spotify, so I searched for something similar for uLauncher. I ended up getting the Spotify player extension working, which lets you pause, play, and skip to the next or previous track.
It’s not as advanced as the Raycast extension, but since it doesn’t use the Spotify WebAPI, the response is instantaneous—unlike Raycast, which can be painfully slow. There’s also a Spotify WebAPI extension for uLauncher, but it crashed when I installed it.
